Engineering Manager

We are looking for someone with a passion for innovation, a strong background in mechanical product development, and the ability to lead a team of engineers and designers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers and designers to oversee the development of new features and products from concept to production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, purchasing and quality control, to ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop project timelines and budgets and ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team and ensure that all work is completed to the required technical standards.
  • Manage the development of new products, features, and ensure that they meet or exceed the customer's requirements.
  • Provide regular project status updates to senior management and identify and manage project risks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including suppliers and customers.
  • Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with company policies and procedures and that all relevant regulatory requirements are met.
  • Support the implementation of a Product Development Process and related tools
  • Constantly seek to improve the way things are done and the quality of services rendered
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical background.
  • At least 10 years of experience in product development, with at least 3 years of experience in a managerial role.
  • Experience in mechanical and hydraulic products development.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage and develop a team of engineers and technical designers.
  • Staff supervision through mobilization of resources under your responsibility, communication of clear expectations and provision of support to accomplish individual and organizational goals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, demonstrate active listening and select appropriate communication techniques for the given context.
  • Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously as well as delineate the activities in your area, establish action plans and collaborate in their completion, and evaluate results and work processes.
  • Experience in project management through a stage-gate process (a strong asset)
  • Experience in heavy equipment and/or attachments design (a strong asset)
  • Experience in the scrap, waste management or demolition industries (asset)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards for material handling equipment (asset)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $74,643.55-$162,359.70 per year
